Well Water Design Security Update

Two critical security vulnerabilities have recently been discovered in PHP, the programming language that powers millions of websites and applications worldwide, including WordPress and many other popular platforms.

The vulnerabilities, identified as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, could potentially allow unauthorized attackers to execute malicious code on vulnerable web servers without needing login credentials.

On October 21, the PHP development team released emergency security updates to address these vulnerabilities.

What Well Water Design Is Doing

Protecting our clients' websites, data, and hosting environments is a priority at Well Water Design.

We are actively responding to this security advisory and taking the following steps:Core Server Security: Our core hosting servers have been reviewed and are up to date with the necessary security patches.

  • PHP Security Updates: We are updating all applicable client hosting accounts to PHP 8.2.35, which includes the critical security fixes released on October 21.

  • Ongoing Monitoring: We are continuing to follow official PHP security advisories and evaluate any additional measures needed to protect our hosting environment.

Do Clients Need to Take Action?

No action is currently required from clients as part of this PHP update.

Our team is handling the server-level updates and coordinating the necessary changes to hosted accounts.

As always, clients managing their own WordPress installations or other website applications should continue keeping their software, plugins, and themes updated.

Our Commitment to Security

Security is an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time task. While no hosting environment can be guaranteed completely immune to vulnerabilities, keeping server software current and responding promptly to security advisories are important parts of reducing risk.

We'll continue monitoring developments and taking appropriate action to keep our clients' websites running securely and reliably.
